Developer – Tour Operator Business Unit (VB.Net, ASP.Net, SQL Server)
Main Duties
The successful candidate will be experienced in working on product based development using VB.NET, ASP.NET 3.5 & .Net framework and related technologies while employing strong object-oriented design and programming skills. There is a requirement to support VB6 and Classic ASP. There is a possibility of future opportunities with C#.
The selected candidate will be part of a strong development team and will be responsible for developing Comtec’s Tour operating enterprise application - Travelink.
The Comtec Travelink product is an established Browser based application. The immediate responsibilities are to develop the Travelink application in response to customer requirements or product driven development.
Principle accountabilities:
- Experience developing object-orientated design, design patterns.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- Experience with VB.Net, ASP.Net3.5 and .NET
- Ability to work within delivery deadlines.
- Organisational skills and the ability to develop operational processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong problem-solving abilities and an aptitude for learning new technologies
- Desire to work in fast-paced environment to ensure that applications meet or exceed specifications in a scalable and secure environment
- Self-motivated, creative and strong sense of accountability
- Self starter accustomed to working on own initiative

Salary range: £22k-£28k basic
Benefits: 23 days holiday (plus statutory), pension scheme, 4 x death in service & private medical insurance.
Hours: Fulltime 37.5 per wk
