New Tours Functionality enhances Travelink’s Selling Capability

Comtec focuses on flexibility and yield to help push sales

May 2009. Comtec has today released the latest version of its tour operator product Travelink 9.2 which contains an enhanced Tours module which has been developed to help increase sales.

This latest version of the Tours module allows tour operators to quickly load and sell unique, complex itineraries such as Tours of Asia, Vineyards of France and African safari holidays – with complex Air, Hotel, Transfers, Excursions and more components wrapped up in a single entity.

The 9.2 version focuses on three specific areas which will help support sales in the UK, US and internationally. The system enables users to:

  • Sell their own stock and third party components individually in a tailor made transaction
  • Dynamically package tailor made holidays
  • To pre-build complex itineraries

All of which will make the sales process as efficient as possible.

"Our goal is to make the task of putting holidays on sale – whether simple or complex - easier and easier with each successive Travelink release," comments Humphrey Sheil, Chief Technical Officer, Comtec Group. "The really productive aspect to our approach is that Travelink allows users to switch seamlessly between each holiday type, so a complex Tour can be converted to a tailor-made holiday instantaneously, tweaked as needed to give the consumer a truly individual holiday experience and then confirmed and managed as a regular Travelink booking. We believe that this approach maximises conversions while maintaining margin and yield".
